Another month has come and gone, meaning a month full of new favorites to add to a list of already burgeoning list. Of course before the launching of this blog it had been two years since I had shared my last list of favorites. Nonetheless, I will only share last month’s favorites (imagine if I did two years worth…whew!). Let’s get this started!
For beauty products I really love Skin Drink and Copperhead from Lush. After my skin became a burnt pile of nastiness, I had to hit up my local Lush shop and get products, which would nourish my skin and scalp (yes I was even burnt on my scalp). I have also become enamored with solid shampoo bars because they are so easy to use and you don’t waste product. Copperhead has coffee with a touch of henna to brighten up my locks, cocoa butter to help moisten them, and vanilla to make it smell great. Skin Drink is definitely on par with my new skin texture and when paired with the Tea Tree Water it stays soft and smooth all day. If you have a Lush by your house, then you should go in and try some products (I know mine does facials) and you can get a sample of anything you want.
At the end of October two of my favorite lady artists released new albums within a week of each other and I fell hard for both. They are constantly on repeat while I am driving to class in the morning and they are great pre-workout songs. Those ladies being Lady Gaga and Tove Lo if you haven’t listened to them then you should. They both have a story to them, which deal with heartbreak, identity, and many things dealing with relationships.
Spotify and podcasts have also been on my list of things I listen to while I am driving to class (I drive an hour and a half one way five days a week). If you are looking for some entertaining or informative podcasts here is a list of my favorites:
1. Drinkin’ Bros – A rowdy good time that puts out a new episode on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. If you are prone to be offended, then I would not suggest this for you. It can get a little graphic at times and the jokes are geared toward a specific audience. Download the podcast on iTunes, Libsyn, or wherever you get your podcasts at.
2. Girlboss Radio – If you are a fan of the books Girlboss or Nasty Galaxy, then Girlboss Radio will have you planning your next big move. I got the motivation from the podcast to restart my blog and here we are today. Download Girlboss Radio on iTunes, Stitcher, or where you can find it.
3. 3rd Coast Nerds – Now for some local Houston podcast awesomeness. I actually know these guys personally and they are some pretty nerdy guys (I mean that in a good way). If you want to get the lowdown on all things nerdy, then these are your guys, but they also cover subjects that are non-nerdy as well. Get 3rd Coast Nerds on Stitcher, Libsyn, and for you videophiles you can watch the guys on YouTube.
Thought it is not one particular piece of clothing, it is one of my favorite things for the fall season…flannel. I have tons of flannel due to working at the flannel capital Urban Outfitters. At the beginning of October I picked up a super interesting one from a booth from Texas Antique Week. They come from an antique shop from Canon City, Colorado called Altered Antiques and have different patches and shirts. I couldn’t find an Etsy store, but they are on Facebook so you can see what they have and possibly contact them to buy a style you want.
Well I cannot wait to try out new things for November. Do you have any favorites? If so, what are they and where can you find them? I would love to try everyone’s favorites out to see if I would like them as well.
